Nebo is an Atlanta-based creative, producer, & your friendly neighborhood DJ. He was born in Danbury, CT. From there, his family spent some time in Michigan before moving again to Georgia, where they would eventually put down roots.
A child of the 80’s and 90’s, young Nebo had a shoebox filled with his favorite mixtapes of songs that he had collected and recorded (shout out to cassette tapes!). Never one to confine himself to a single genre, Nebo’s tastes in music are as diverse as his wardrobe. From Grunge Rock to RnB & HipHop , Trance all the way to Reggae – young Nebo sampled them all because his appetite for music couldn’t be satisfied. Music is such a powerful source of influence, expression, and comfort for a young mind, and Nebo was no different. His exposure to such a wide array of sounds and melodies helped shape him into the man he would become and lay the groundwork for his future career.
He started DJing at 18 years of age. His first set up was on a pair of American DJ belt-driven turntables and a Gemini PMX-12 mixer. Then a colleague and friend (Nate Friend aka DJ Smiles) blessed him with a pair of Technic 1200’s that he still uses today. He also worked as a lighting, video, and sound technician for some of Atlanta’s biggest nightclubs. Velvet Room, Compound, Reign, Vanquish and more all had one thing in common – a fresh-faced Nebo, hustling everywhere setting up sound systems, lighting, and video feeds not just for the clubs themselves, but for a bevy of performers and celebrity DJs that would pass through – Boyz II Men, Erykah Badu, Kid Capri, Biz Markie, Steve Aoki and many more.
Nebo wasn’t just working, though. He was observing and learning, watching how the pros would rock a room, and how a DJ had the power to control the emotions of a crowd. He was also familiarizing himself with the industry and building a network of insiders from artists to producers to managers and everyone in between. They all had a fondness for Nebo – they were drawn to his easy-going nature and enthusiasm for his job (and also probably his next-level fashion sense – I dare you to find a more stylish DJ [ *hint: you cannot because one doesn’t exist ] ).
Since those humble beginnings, Nebo has been all over the Metro Atlanta area. He’s been booked by the Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena, Top Golf, The Music Room Edgewood, Impulse Lounge, Char BBQ, Hampton & Hudson, Little Spirit, James Room, The Warren City Club, District M, Revery VR Bar, WHotl and more.
Nebo also produces his own music. He’s released a few independent songs, done a few remixes (most notably for Jeezy), and recently partnered up with DJ Baby Yu for the single Not My Type, which has been getting heavy airplay across the USA.
